Indian Tribal Information
The Region is home to four federally-recognized Indian tribes: the Mattaponi, the Pamunkey, the Upper Mattaponi, and the Rappahannock. With over 1600 Tribal members combined, the Tribes are an important partner in the Region's economic development strategy. Their investments in education, environmental sustainability, and community capacity-building are the foundation for the Region's heritage.
