Callis House Inn

The L.M. Callis House was built in 1908 and once home to the builder and family of local contractor Eddie Callis. In 2016, the House was saved by local group, Preservation Mathews, and moved to its new location on 345 Main Street in downtown  Mathews. In 2018 the Callis House was renovated and opened into a modern, and comfortable Inn for those fortunate to discover, or rediscover Mathews County. 

This Inn offers five rooms with all the modern amenities: queen sized beds, safety deposit, flat screen smart TV, wifi, In-Suite Bath, microwave, fridge, Keurig and adjustable thermostats. The Inn is walking distance from the Bay School Community Arts Gallery, 7 restaurants, a coffee shop, half a dozen boutique stores, and the Visitor Center. Local beaches, kayak and boat launches are only a 10 minute drive!  It is also walking distance if you book in advance to local festivals, the Mathews Farmers Market, and live music events when available on weekends!
